Details of Ull Student Death

The Dean of Students’ letter, dispatched by Margarita Perez, on this Monday morning, does not explicitly mention the details of the events. However, all the social media posts advises that an incident, allegedly involving a student’s death mentioning it as suicide. The incident supposedly occurred on Sunday night and the venue seems to be one of the university’s parking garages.

The UL Police Department received notification at approximately 6:50 p.m. on Sunday.  The question is What Happened To the student and regarding an unresponsive individual near the Olivier Parking Garage on McKinley Street. 

Medical personnel administered aid; however, despite their efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries. Officers concluded that it was “an isolated incident” and confirmed that no foul play was suspected, as stated by Frederick.

The Advocate typically refrains from covering deaths by suicide but is making an exception due to the public significance of this incident. 

“In moments like these, words alone cannot fully express the profound sorrow we experience, both as individuals and as a unified campus community,” Perez expressed in the emailed correspondence.
